I love the look and feel of real stag grips, and have found probably the best real stag grip maker for single actions available today. His name is William R. Jennings, 198 Burritt Avenue, Buffalo Wyoming, 82834. Phone (307) 620-1869, and his e-mail address is wrj@bresnan.net.
His workmanship and custom fitting is absolutely perfect in every respect. The prices are very reasonable, and best of all, his turn-a-round is within days instead of weeks. He has made me several sets of grips and gives personal service as to size, type, taper, etc. He guarantees the grips to your satisfaction, with a money back policy if you're not happy. That's as good as it gets.
Check out his web site at www.stag-grips.com and tell him "The guy from Texas recommended you".

Are they stag or elk antler? The website is a little ambiguous and there's a significant difference between the two.

Another great source for stag grips (as well as ivory and pearl) is Elen Hunting & Importing at www.elenhunting.com. I have dealt with them several times. Very nice people to deal with.

Craig,
Mr. Jennings makes his grips out of Elk. I have eight pair so far, and all have served me well. I regularly shoot his grips on a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag. with full loads. I have never had any problems with any of the grips, plus he has a money back guarantee if you're not happy. They look as good as anything else on the market today, and the fit and finish is better than most. They're great grips.
